Connie Brown “Chip” Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, attorney, and community leader, passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Born in Brenham, Texas, to Weldon C. and Josie Williams, Connie was a proud graduate of Howard University and the University of Houston Law Center; a Vietnam War veteran awarded the Silver Star; and a trailblazing attorney in Houston.


After serving as an Assistant District Attorney and Executive Assistant to Mayor Jim McConn, Connie established his private law practice in 1982. Known for his legal brilliance and compassion, he received numerous accolades, including being rated by his peers as the sixth best criminal attorney in Harris County and the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1993, he became the first African American to serve on the Harris County Sheriff’s Department Civil Service Commission.


Connie is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hogan Williams; his sons, Connie Brian, Benjamin (Shawn), and Christopher (Vanessa); his grandchildren, Skylar, Karlyn, Tracy, Daylen, and Alessandra, and many beloved relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. at The Community Collective, 12401 S Post Oak Rd., Houston, TX. Connie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his kindness, integrity, and dedication to family and community.

Booker T. Hogan, Jr

Local attorney, funeral director, and community leader Booker T. Hogan, Jr. (BT2) passed away at the age of 86 on November 5, 2021. Hogan was the third generation to own and operate the 107 year old Hogan Funeral Home, which was designated as a historical landmark in 2007. He leaves behind a wife Ruby Brown McNeil Hogan, three children Catherine Hogan, Pamela Hogan, and Byron T. Hogan (BT3); step-son Roosevelt Brown, sisters, Mildred Hogan Lord (Earl) and Patricia Hogan Williams (Connie) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

A viewing is planned for Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the New Life Church of God,1990 FM 389, Brenham, TX at 9:00am-10:45am. His funeral service will follow at 11:00am.  

It is with heartfelt gratitude that we, the Hogan family, express our sincere appreciation to each of you for your support.   It has been an honor to be part of this wonderful community for more than 150  years.  Thank you for supporting us.   As long as we are here, we will always support you!
