A grave side Funeral Services for Mr. Eligah James Lacey, who passed at home on December 4, 2010 after a long illness, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday; December 8, 2010; at the Providence Cemetery that is located at 2300 S. Meyersville Road, in Washington, County. Pastor A. Miles of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church will conduct the eulogy.
Mr. Lacey, a graduate of the U.S. Navel Academy, served his country for more than six years in Hawaii before returning to civilian life where he worked for Brawney Paper Company in Houston, Texas for over twenty five years.
Mr. Lacey, a native of Washington County, was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Wyse Lacey. He is survived by his brother; Israel Lacey Jr. of Houston, TX, two sisters: Lois Dunham, and Venora Murphy also of Houston, his devoted niece caretaker; Ms. Letitica Lacey-Thomas and a host of other nieces, nephews and family friends. The family expresses its special thanks to Hospice; Brazos Valley.
Services have been entrusted to HOGAN FUNERAL HOME, 1002 West Alamo Street, Brenham, TX 77833 ((979) 8362571), where visitation will be held on Tuesday; December 7, 2010, between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.
