Funeral services for Mrs. Betty R. Upshaw, age 82, of Brenham, TX, who passed December 9, 2014, In Brenham, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday; December 13, 2014 in the HOGAN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL that is located at 1002 West Alamo Street, Brenham, TX.
On November 4, 1932, Thurman and Mary Milican were blessed with a baby girl that they named Betty Ruth. Betty Ruth grew up in Munford, Tennessee and married her childhood sweet heart; Harold Upshaw.
The young couple moved to California were they conceived and raised two girls; Barbara and Jaine. Betty worked in the health care industry. Harold and Betty subsequently retired and relocated to Spearsville, Louisiana where they lived until Harold passed.
Betty moved to Brenham, Texas, after the death of her husband, to live with her sister; Ruby G. Saunders. After more than ten year of blissful cohabitation with her sister, during which time she made numerous friends, her health began to fail and it was necessary for her to relocate to a rest home where she resided until she passed on December 9, 2014.
Betty leaves to morn her passing: two daughters; Barbara White of Hemet, CA and Thelma (Charles) Malone of Upland, CA., two sisters; Ruby G. Saunders of Brenham and Wilma L. Griffin of Memphis, Tennessee, one brother; Tom Millican of Memphis, Tennessee, a very special niece; Linda Runyon of Brenham, TX , five grandchildren, two great grand children, and a host of other relatives, and friends including the staff at Gazebo Terrace.
